The Safe and Sound Protocol

Experience the power of music in repatterning your nervous system

What is the Safe and Sound Protocol?

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a a science-based modality developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the founder of Polyvagal Theory. SSP uses specially filtered music to repattern your nervous system and to decrease hyperstimulation, reactivity, and sensory senstivities. It is particularly helpful for people who experience stressful life events, chronic pain, trauma, anxiety, depression, or sensory processing challenges. It helps adults and children feel more grounded, improves the functioning of the autonomic system, and enhances focus and wellbeing.

How Does SSP Work?

The SSP works by delivering music that has been acoustically modified with frequencies within the medium range. It activates the vagus nerve through the middle ear muscles. It enhances the ability to cope with challenging life situations and promotes reseliency and wellbeing. The program is individually customized. It consists of 5 hours of listening over the course of three months.
